Trafalgar Releasing won Event Cinema Campaign of the Year at last night’s Screen Awards for Trafalgar Entertainment’s production of The King and I: From the London Palladium.

Starring Kelli O’Hara, Ken Watanabe and Ruthie Ann Miles, the much-loved production screened in 27 countries worldwide, in 1344 venues, with a total of 2193 screenings and over 135,000 admits globally.

The release became the number one UK theatre event of 2018, grossing £1.3m with an expected final figure of £1.5m. The release was the number 2 event at the UK box office for 2018.

The re-release of the production came to cinemas on 4 April.
