12 November 2024
On Monday 11 November 2024, Trafalgar Entertainment took part in TheatreCraft – the UK’s largest free offstage theatre careers event for people aged 16-30. The event welcomed over 1,000 attendees plus teachers and people from the theatre industry to the Royal Opera House and at workshops and tours all around the West End.
Our mission was to showcase careers across all Trafalgar divisions, including work experience and training opportunities, promote Stagecoach Teacher Training and education businesses, engage with young people wanting to work in the industry and raise awareness of Trafalgar Entertainment and the wider group activities.
To run in conjunction with the main event, Trafalgar also ran two workshops at Trafalgar Theatre on the day – A morning event facilitated by venue management, and an afternoon session arranged by our Production department.
Stage of History: Trafalgar Theatre Past and Present was a heritage tour of our Art Deco venue with rare material drawn from the archives, exploring 100 years of West End magic.
TheatreCraft participants were able to hear from our facilitators and gain behind-the-scenes insight into what goes into a theatre, from Technical, Stage Door, Box Office, and more.
The Duchess (Of Malfi) Demo Workshop allowed attendees to discover what happens behind the curtain of Trafalgar’s latest production – The Duchess (Of Malfi) – with the Stage Management Team, who are responsible for making the show come alive. They were also given a sneak peek into the production’s hidden secrets, such as how to set up a show, using fake blood on stage and working with real props.
