On October 9, Trafalgar Releasing presents Metallica & San Francisco Symphony S&M2, a must-see celebration of the 20th anniversary of Metallica’s Grammy Award winning ground-breaking S&M concerts and album recorded with the San Francisco Symphony.

The original album sold 300,000 units in the first week of release, going on to sell a total of 2.5 million copies. By 2003, the album had been certified 5x platinum and by August 2013, the album had sold more than 8 million copies worldwide. It was included in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die and ranked 48th on NME’s list of 50 Greatest Live Albums.

Recorded live in San Francisco’s Chase Center, the film will allow fans to experience this unique Metallica event in over 3000 cinemas all over the world.

Legendary conductor Michael Tilson Thomas leads a portion of the show, kicking off his final season in San Francisco. The show will include several tracks from the original ’99 S&M release as well as symphonic versions of new songs released since then.
