STARRY NIGHT FOR ADMISSIONS

13 March 2019

This month’s press night for Admissions at Trafalgar Studios was a star-studded affair with celebs such as Ben Stiller, Jill Halfpenny, Russell Tovey, Angela Griffin, Iwan Rhoen, Floella Benjamin, Natascha McElhone, Tyger Drew-Honey, Fionn Whitehead, Nick Moran and Charlie Condou walking our red carpet.

On her official Instagram page, Angela Griffin gave the show five stars and told her followers the show was “a clever, insightful, funny but controversial piece. Exactly how I like my theatre. Highly recommended.”

Charlie Condou, said: “Admissions is one of the best plays I’ve ever seen in my life, it blew me away!”

Russell Tovey also spoke highly about the show, commenting: “It was amazing, I absolutely loved it. My mind is racing and I’m buzzing with what I’ve just witnessed!”

Nick Moran commented: I think it’s the best contemporary piece of American theatre that I’ve seen for about fifteen years, it was really, really something.”

In a five star review, The Sunday Times said Admissions was “Provocative. Outrageous. Entirely gripping!” The Sunday Express called it a “bold new comedy” and Gay Times said “Admissions is an impressive piece of theatre.” Brilliantly, Metro’s four star review said the show was “a supercharged comedy with the force of a bulldozer and the precision of a scalpel. The show was also awarded four stars by The Guardian, The Arts Desk,  Broadway World and London Theatre.

Alex Kingston (ER, Doctor Who) and Sarah Hadland (Miranda) star in this award-winning and bitingly funny new comedy from the writer of acclaimed hit Bad Jews, direct from New York’s Lincoln Center, producers of Oslo.

Sherri is the Head of Admissions at a private school, fighting to diversify the student intake and she wants you to know about it. When her son is deferred from his university of choice, and his best friend – who ‘ticks more boxes’ – is accepted, Sherri’s personal ambition collides with her progressive values.

Following the run at Trafalgar Studios, Admissions will tour the UK playing at the Richmond Theatre (w/c 27 May 2019), the Cambridge Arts Theatre (w/c 3 June), the Malvern Festival Theatre (w/c 10 June 2019) and the Lyric Theatre at The Lowry in Salford (w/c 17 June).
